The inaugural North Star Skimo race is part of the 2025 Canada Cup Series. Vertical, Sprint and Individual races will be held at the beautiful Kimberley Alpine Resort, BC, from January 31 to February 2. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or new to the sport, this is the perfect opportunity to test your skills and fitness. Get ready to join us for an exciting weekend of skimo racing!

Event Details:
- Vertical Race: Friday, January 31, 4:30 PM
Sponsored by Hollywood North Wealth, this race is a straight push to the top, starting at the base of the quad and finishing at the top of Kimberley’s Easter Chair. Participants ski back down together after the race. - Sprint Race: Saturday, February 1, 1:00 PM
Hosted at the Kootenay Haus and sponsored by Kickturn Coffee Roasters, the Sprint Race is a fast-paced event featuring a short course with skinning, bootpacking, and a marked descent through gates. Expect the fastest racers to complete the course in around 3 minutes. - Individual Race: Sunday, February 2, 9:00 AM
Covering over 1,300 meters of elevation gain, this challenging course includes multiple ascents, descents, and bootpacking sections. The race starts at the base of the quad and finishes above the bridge near the patrol shack, with a mix of on- and off-piste terrain.
Registration Desk:
Located in the Slopeside Cafeteria, the desk will be open daily for bib pick-ups and waiver signings.
Licenses and Fees:
- Athletes with a 2025 Skimo Canada annual license do not pay the single-event license fee.
- Athletes without the annual license pay a $35.00 single-event license fee, which covers all three races.
- License fees support Skimo Canada’s operational expenses.
